25 SERIES FORDS

DF1030025H Ford Brasseur in Red with Metal wheels VG/o  The most difficult of the Fords to find in good condition because, not only was the metal wheeled version issued for such a short period but the tin tailboard is so often missing.  This deep red colour (similar to the later Essolube Tanker) is also difficult to find.  This example is complete with a few chips on the cab roof and exposed edges.  £350

DF1037025H Ford Brasseur in Cream with cream ridged hubs NM/o.  I have never seen one of these before.  It is the colour of the benne below and is a very nearly similar condition.  There are one or two very minor chips on the wings and raised mouldings.

DF1037125H Ford Brasseur in Turquoise with metal wheels  E/o  In the view of some experts, the most difficult of all the 25H versions to find.  This example in excellent condition.  There is a scrape on the rear valence, but otherwise it is exceptional condition for a model of this age.

DF1030125I Ford Benne in Cream with 'M' rubber tyres M/o  Certainly the most perfect example of this rare coloured Ford truck I have ever seen.  The paintwork is near-perfect, the only blemish being a bit of the 'orange-peel' effect inside the truck bed.  Quite fantastic. p.o.a

DF1035525I Ford Benne in Metallic Grey with red hubs and 'M' tyres E/o    This is a very rare piece indeed.  It is a type 2 Ford Benne and the normal colours cream (see above), blue and red and, very rarely, deep green.  The wheels mimic the body colour. As far as we know this is the only one with different hub colours and only two have come to market in the last six years.  There is some wear on the hubs and the cab roof - otherwise it is in near mint condition - a superb model.       (SOLD)

DF1024925JV (type 2) Ford Bache 'Grands Moulins de ParisVNM  By far the scarcest of the three Camion Bache models, the type 2 was produced only in 1953.  It is in exceptional condition, mint except for a tiny mark on the rear beam.  the decals are the best I have seen.  £550

25 SERIES STUDEBAKERS

DF1035625L Studebaker Maraicher in Turquoise with cream Bache and metal wheels. NM  This is easily the best example of this scarce first type Studebaker Maraicher we have had.  Apart from some faint rubbing on the bumper bar and a small nick at the base of the off-side wing, it is in almost pefect condition.  (SOLD)

DF1006725L2 Studebaker Tapisserie in Blue with a Cream back NM/o  One of the rarer colour variations of this early post-war Studebaker.  Superb condition  £550

DF1026725O (type 1) Studebaker Laitier in blue and cream with metal wheels NM/B Of all the models we lis in this section this is probably the most interesting.  The very first Studebaker Laitiers were produced with this deep cream back which was soon changed to white.  It is not recorded for how long this version was produced but, as the first type was only in production for about eight months, the cream-backed versions must be exceptionally rare. It comes with the correct first-type box with the black triangle.  Certainly the cream of the crop, if you will excuse the bad pun!  (SOLD)

DF1027525O (type 2) Studebaker Laitier in blue and white with rubber tyres NM/E  This is the second version of  the 25O with rubber tyres and 'NESTLE' applied in a decal.  It is in superb condition in the correct second type of box with a yellow sticker on the side. All bidons are present.

DF1026625O (type 2) Studebaker Laitier in blue and white with rubber tyresA beautiful version of this sought-after model.  It is in near mint condition except for some paint-lift under the bidons and with 'NESTLE' in the later stamp. Very scarce model produced in 1953. It comes with the correct second type of box with a yellow sticker on the side. All bidons are present.

DF1034125R Studebaker crane truck in red with 'Dinky Service' and no hook E/o  A very unusual version of the crane truck in that it has no hook.  There is no reference to this issue that I can find.  It is in top condition with some small nicks on the cabin and truck bed. £250

DF1034325R Studebaker crane truck in red without 'Dinky Service' and no hook E/o  The version of this superb model without the decal and no hook.  It was made in 1950 for a very short time and is very rare indeed.  Very minor nicks and a little orange peeling on the roof and bonnet, this is a collectors item.  £325

DF1033725Q Studebaker Bache with green cabin and tilt and yellow/back M/o  This is the most perfect example of the Stubeaker Bache I have ever seen.  The paintwork gleams and there is not a mark on it.  It even has the original paper notice with 'Deux jouets en un seul!'  £560

We show below the main differences between the various versions of the Studebaker Laitier,

French Dinky Toy manufacture started again after the war in 1946.  Most of the production was of pre-war design with the exception of the 24M Jeep Militaire.  It was not until 1948 that the French factory announced the introduction of a brand new series of trucks based on the current Ford chassis which were issued in early 1949.

Early models had metal wheels and a cast-in hook but these gave way very quickly to rubber-tyred hubs and a metal hook.  Very soon after that the moulds were remade to a slightly different design and so the early Fords are very rare indeed in top condition.

Soon after the Ford came the Studebaker range later in 1949.  As far as we know the first moulding never appeared with the cast-in hook but is certainly known with metal wheels - again very scarce.  Just as the Ford mould was quickly updated, so was the Studebaker.

We have a small number of these increasingly scarce early post-war models for sale.  It includes some of the superb 29c Isobloc buses (surely one of the best Dinkys ever) as well as the very scarce Panhard 'KODAK' in its original three-pack box.  We hope you enjoy looking at them and we will try to answer any questions you may have about them.
